Among the many sub-styles of portrait photography, environmental portraits are among the most popular. These photographs make use of the environment and focus on details of the subject. We use a reflector to enhance the light and looks. We might have you also sitting against a plain background or in action. It's important that the environment is an extension of your personality. It can also be a landscape or a cityscape. An environmental portrait is often more candid than posed portraits. The goal of environmental portraits is to capture the essence of a subject in a natural setting. Capture Style location in the Flats South of Cleveland, we can create many different out door scenes. You want the Cleveland Skyline in the background, we can do that. How about the Guardians of Transportation, we got it. An old brick background, it’s there. All of this is possible at our location. No need to get in a car!!
A styled portrait shoot involves a team effort between you and our photographer. At times, you might be required to fluff a veil or hold a reflector. In your portrait session, we hire a hair and makeup artist for you. Lighting is an important consideration in portrait photography. A poorly-lit subject will have poor skin tones and an unpleasant appearance. We have many lighting modifiers and types of lights in our studio. Examples of the modifiers include umbrellas and soft boxes. We have strobes (flashes), LED lighting (Constant Light), and colored gels to change the mood. We can create the perfect mood!!
We use Different Lenses: A wide angle lens can give you an interesting perspective. A wide-angle lens is a great choice for creating a different look. We shoot with a variety of lenses including vintage lenses, which gives your portrait a different look.
Background design: A good background adds context. It doesn't need to be distracting or cluttered, but it does add some interest. At Capture Style, we use Savage Photography paper and have various canvas backdrops at our disposal. You can also use an object in the background to add context or color. We will carefully plan the overall look of your portrait with you. The first step is to define your color scheme. Selecting complementary colors will make your photos more interesting and give your subject a more recognizable image. This will enhance the impact of your portraits.
